Week 2 is in the books, with each game being just as entertaining as they were in week 1. To start the night, The Academy took on the Revolution. The revolution hung in for most of the game, due to got solid performances from Simon (8pts, 3ast, 5rbs) and Hearn (8asts, 15rbs), but fell in the end 20-15. The Academy played great team defense and got yet another solid effort out of Zach (6pts, 3ast, 10rbs, 2stls) who found himself in the starting lineup this week, due to his play in the opener. The 7PM game was pretty much over from the tip, as Head of Steam took control early over the After School Specials and never looked back as they won 29-20. Steam were led by Dennis (7pts, 6ast, 6rbs) and Nate (7pts, 20rbs, 4blks). Poke was the lone bright spot for the Specials with 5pts, 5asts, 8rebs, 6stls. The final game on the slate turned out to be the best of the night as Bricklayers 2.0 locked horns with 38 1/2 Minutes of Hell. This was a back and forth battle with the Bricklayers coming out on top 27-24 in overtime. The Bricklayers only had two players score in this game as Perreault and Sean combined to shoot 27/47, while the rest of the team shot 0/14. 38 1/2 Minutes were up for majority of this game, but probably lost this game due to the fact that they had no subs, which forced Kyle to play the entire game. With out being to harsh on the kid, this loss fell squarely on the shoulders of Kyle with his horrendous play late in regulation. Jeff played well for 38 1/2 minutes (8pts, 3asts, 23rebs, 4stls)and Soluri pitched in with 8pts. Overall, another quality week at the Grinders Stadium. And remember to pay your score keeper and to clean up after yourself as there are always water bottle everywhere.
