Week 14 is officially in the books. The Chicken Chokers and the After School Specials started the night off. Al came out on fire for the Specials, making his first 7 shots, and ending 14/18 for the night. Al just could not miss. Jeff also played a solid overall game for the Specials, who won the contest easily 36-27. The Chokers were lead by Justin who contributed with 11pts, 8 rbs. Vinny also rebounded from a poor performance last week with 6pts. The middle game featured 40 Minutes of Hell against Head of Steam. 40 Minutes kept it very close with out have Simon, only to fall 24-20. Sean was carried the team with 10pts, 14rbs. Lou had a superb day for the Head of Steam with 9pts, 22rbs. One thing that needs to be noted, is there was glimpses of the original Head of Steam in this game. Sampson played well, and actually had more assists then turnovers. The night cap, as always featured the Bricklayers and The White Shadows. This was a thriller of a game, as both teams battle back and forth throughout, with the Shadows winning 22-21 on a buzzer beater by Matt. The Shadows got solid shooting from Scott (9/18), and a solid overall game by Eric (5pts, 12rbs) to help keep the game close. Witt and Dennis both played well for the Bricklayers, and Will played solid defensively (4blks), but it was not enough in the end. Tonight, is a very important night in the Grinders season. It is the last night of the regular season, and each game will affect the seeding in the playoffs. The Steam and Specials will play for the last first round bye, while the Shadow and Bricklayers will try to stay out of the basement by winning their respective games.
